Nov 23rd 2022 we prepaid a 1 year subscription. In May 2023 they merged or something with Discovery, Then they blocked the service in Latin America where I have retired and refuse to refund the balance of the contract. So they took the money THEY changed the service and kept the money ! STAY AWAY FROM THEM FOLKS. We have placed a complaint with BBB. It is amazing. You cannot even cancel it online. They would gladly cancel it but no refunds.

MAX CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL
During the recent transition from HBO to MAX they cancelled my yearly subscription. MAX customer service was useless. You lost me as a customer FOREVER!

Absolutely awful
Absolutely awful. Unprofessional, disjointed, and couldn't resolve anything after speaking to four people over chat and taking over an hour of my time. None of them read the correspondence so I had to repeat myself over and over again. At the end of all of that I still can't access "Max" and haven't been able to for the past few weeks. Unbelievable for the most expensive subscription service. Not worth the hassle.

Extremely Disappointing Experience with HBO Max - Lack of Support and Customer Care
My experience with HBO Max has been nothing short of disappointing. I've had compatibility issues with my Amazon Fire TV from the start, and their customer service staff's lack of assistance and consideration has been quite troubling. In spite of numerous attempts to fix the problem, HBO Max has completely disregarded the user experience. They neglected their duty to offer a flawless streaming experience by refusing to accept the compatibility issue and shifting the burden on the client. Furthermore, the fact that they refused to issue a refund despite the fact that I had already paid for a yearly subscription shows how they put profit over the needs of their customers. This blatant disregard of their contractual commitments and lack of accountability is intolerable. I'm considering taking legal action to seek proper remedies in light of the aggravation and disappointment I've felt. I advise prospective customers to proceed cautiously when dealing with HBO Max because their lack of assistance, disrespectful customer service, and refusal to resolve issues are major warning signs. HBO Max has fallen short of even the most fundamental client demands. I am unable to endorse their service due to their lack of assistance, dismissive attitude, and failure to address problems. I suggest looking into alternate solutions that put a priority on providing excellent customer service.

A swamp of confusion
Oh, Max, the HBO app for smart TVs, where do I begin? Remembering viewing history seems too Herculean a task for you. Navigating your interface feels like wading through a swamp of confusion, armed with a compass that only points south. Your performance is about as "max" as a sloth on a treadmill. Dear HBO, I expected a stallion, but Max, you're barely a donkey wearing horse shoes. Time for an upgrade, perhaps?

Ridiculous! Unfathomably bad!
Ridiculous! Unfathomably bad! This is by far the worst streaming app I’ve ever had to endure. Kicks me off every 15 minutes and won’t allow me to continue watching without a lot of searching. BEWARE! This thing is a mental health hazard and should be banned by the NIMH. I wish I could post negative stars. This sucker could be used to extract confessions from suspected terrorists at CIA black ops sites in tandem with water boarding.

Poor user experience
HBO has good shows, but I accidentally signed up for HBO Max with ads, and there is NO way to upgrade. Its insane! I find out the only way to upgrade is to cancel plan and wait for it to expire, then resign up for no ads. Talk about a terrible process! Also, HBO is overpriced and the experience with Ads is absolutely insane. Ads come up every 5 minutes and are 1 minute long. And you have to pay $9.99/mo for that version. Do better HBO, especially when you charge as much as you do.

MAX is horrible now
MAX is horrible now. Series don’t work after the ADs or just skips to the end. Very frustrating. Good content but it’s unwatchable.

Max Billing practices???
Warner is making a huge mess of their streaming service. Hopefully they will not rename their selves for the fifth time. BUYER BEWARE…You set up separate billing accounts just by email. There is no parameter for households like Netflix. It is very easy if you use more than one streaming device ie. roku or Apple TV to set up two accounts that are billable and not even realize it strictly by using two different emails to activate the account . Very easy to do if you use several streaming devices or more than one Mail. Warner has once again rebranded themselves and shelled out $$$$for a brand new system. Why can’t their software people fix this issue? Is it just another way for big business to indirectly scam people. You should be made aware if there is another account on your household if you punch in another email to activate or reactivate your service. If the person wants to override this should be possible but at least there should be a pop up! This company needs to get their act together.

Very very hard... Could not call, only chat. And chat was completely slow to respond and sounded like a bot. Service sucks!
